.bin files
.bin files
I'm new to DIY ecm programming and just wanted to know what's the difference between .ecu's and a .bin? Is there a utility to convert a .ecu file to .bin to edit? I'm downloaded tunercat, binedit, gmecmedit and a couple other demos to tool around with and need to know what files to start with to edit. My car is currently
1991 Z28 1LE
L98 (350 cid)
19lb injectors
4 speed Auto
37K miles.
What I have to put in this month
ATI P1SC
30lb injectors
Also want to know if I can edit the torque converter lockup??

The "ecu and tdf" file are definition files. They are need for the tuning programs (GMECM and Tuner Cat) so they know were every thing is located in the bin.The "bin" is the binary file that is stored on your eprom. If your not all ready a member you really should check out http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/foru...?s=&forumid=16 . They have some extremely knowledgeable people over there.
