auto comp in manual car

i have a 94 firebird m6 and i put a 94a4 computer in it to eliminate the old governer... every since then my car will NOT run under load with the MAF plugged in.. at idle its all good.. but under load it spits and sputters.. unplugg the MAF and it runs WAY better than the factory comp but with a slight miss hear and there at idle... is there something about the odb1 that isnt compatable between the m6 and a4.. already replaced the MAF thinking it was bad..

No it won't run right when you come to a stop because the IAC won't work properly as the speed will be off. Also, the reverse will be locked out unless you forse it in.

Re: auto comp in manual car

thats just it though.. it runs extremely good WOT with out the MAF plugged in.. idles fine with the MAF plugged in but wont run under WOT.. yes you are right bout the speedo and the reverse lock out..

so with the MAF plugged in your saying that under a load the IAC isnt working correctly because the speedo is off?

I'm just not sure what the point of this even was?
All you had to do was have the computer re-programmed, right?

Re: auto comp in manual car

What kind of governor are you referring to? A mph limiter in the ECM?

Ehh, why not just have the computer reflashed to an M6program.

Re: auto comp in manual car

well there isnt anyone around here.. i like the fuel map on the auto comp.. im going to have a whole new burn eventually and dont see the point in paying for two burns... and yes i was refering to the mph limiter.. i just was wondering why it wont run with the MAF plugged in but it runs like a striped *** ape with it unplugged.. just curiosity.. i drive the car everyday.. no problems..as long as the MAF is unplugged..
