Anyone ever gotten help from the LT1edit mailing list?

I've just posted my problem out there and was just wondering if anyone has had positive results from them. Trying to learn this tuning stuff but I seem to be taking more steps backwards than I do anything else. I'm trying to tune using my Datamaster logs but even then i'm limited on knowledge of what the heck i'm looking at and where to make changes. I've read and read and read Injuneers 'how to' tutorial but still.....I'm stuck at the basics and not utilizing my cams full potential, at least that's what i'm told.

I've posted my questions here several times and have gotten some good responses - fixed what people thought the problem may be - but I still end up 4-5mph slower than what most people think I should be at.

Bah, i'll wait for a response on the mailing list. Just wondering if anyone here uses it.

I'd rather not pay for a tune right now, that's like giving up on learning - what's the point in having the software if I pay for someone else to do it? I still wouldn't learn that way.

May have to eventually throw in the towel and contact one of our local board tuners for help. Hopefully one of them will be kind enough to explain what it is that goes into a cam tune.

I've gotten help from there several times.

Although here lately, I've not seen much traffic on the list, and the tuning stuff I've been asking about hasn't gotten much of a response..

If there's anything I could help with, I'll happily do it.

The best thing I ever did regarding the LT1 Edit list was to download and import the ENTIRE message archive into my email software. Now I can run searches on it anytime and basically have the sum of all LT1 Edit knowledge at hand (my own joke there)...

Nice, i'll give that a try. It's pretty time consuming manually clicking on every post

If you have an email address that doesn't limit your attachment size, I can email you a copy of what I have so you can import it into Outlook.

The problem with the full archive is that it's one big text file, basically a Linux mailbox file, so you have to put that on a server, then download that like it's a mail account..

The last time I archived the List, it was like 127 MB

I just downloaded the archive list from lt1edit, 64mb. I'm importing it into acrobat right now. Should be pretty easy to read now.

I downloaded the list. Does anybody know how it could be imported into MS Outlook or other PC mail program? I started searching for stuff using wordpad and it is tough going through all the extra stuff in there. I am looking for what one does for a new CAM.
TIA

Re: Anyone ever gotten help from the LT1edit mailing list?

I found the easiest way was to use a mail server, since I had access to one... What I did was to create an account on the mail server (linux), then copy that large text file to be the mailbox file for that account. Then I set up the account on Outlook Express (Outlook XP doesn't like pulling more than 1200 messages at a time for some reason, besides Express is FAST when dealing with single accounts) and used Outlook Express to download all the mail.

If you don't have access to do that, I have a .ZIPped copy of the mailing list that I exported from Outlook. Should be ready to import. I exported it on the 17th of August (just a week ago) so it's fairly current.

The .ZIP file is 40 MB in size though...

Do you have a link to the zip file?
Thanks.

Sorry dude, no link... I could break it into small pieces (small .zip files) and email them to you I guess. I have the web space, but not the bandwidth to dedicate to such a file...
