aldl cable help

So i ordered a cable for my 95 TA from aldlcables.com I set everything up right, got data streaming in when i did the hyperterminal test. But for some reason i cant get a single bit of data out of any of the software. Freescan for instance theres the little window on the left that just seems to show data streaming. There is data streaming when i turn the key to the ON position and when the car is running but when i browse through the tabs to look at the sensors, knock counts, etc. there is nothing coming up. And in every other program i just get nothing.

Any ideas to what i may be doing wrong?

Are you using serial or USB cable, I'm not familiar with how deep the hyperterminal test goes, does it test baud connection to the PCM (modem) or in the case of USB to the circuit in the cable ?. In either case I believe it verifies you have the correct COM port. The PC step 1 may be redundant for you, but check out the Freescan step 2. Step 1-- In Windows XP go to Ctl Panel-System-Hardware-Device manager-Com Ports and check what com port(s) are active. Step 2 -- In Freescan go to control tab, make sure Force Data - Interact button is selected, and over on the left to Communications with ECU and make sure the Com port selected matches your computer, then click start under Communications with ECU, I also start CSV file logging to record a file of the trace.
