Is Andy Whitaker's ALDL cable for $61 the same as AKM Electronics cable for $95? I need to buy one.

 

I dont know about Andy's cable but I know that the one I got from AKM cables is very well made and the customer service there is great.

 

Go with Andrew's (akmcables.com) cable. If you want something cheaper, get his crimp style version. It works just as good as the more expensive one.
Nothing against Andy, I just didn't deal with him before and I have many many times with Andrew.

 

AKM has one for $65.. the $90 cable has that fancy molded ALDL connector. im pretty sure the $61 cable from Andy is the same as that $65 from AKM. FWIW my cable from AKM has worked flawlessly.

I've always had great service from AKM.

 

Another source for cables is Steve Ruse. Nice guy to deal with and good stuff like Andrew's.

If I'm not mistaken, Steve is a redistributor for AKMCables, so it's pretty much the same thing.

 

I think Steve was named as an alternate source for cables back when Andrew could not handle the demand...and as I saw it, they were essentially the same product. Just posting another source.

 

I got mine from steve, works great. It is diferent though...no ALDL connector. I wired a USB port into my car instead and plug in that way :-D

I got the kit for $45

 

I ordered from wotelectronics yah i ordered that sept 26 well over 3 weeks it still hasnt showed up. So i dunno

 

AKM rocks, never looked back!

 

AKM.. wouldn't recommend anyone else!
