AKM cable problem.

I ordered a cable a few years ago, which worked perfectly. Well i let an ex friend borrow it, and when i got it back it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know how i should go about getting this fixed? I emailed AKM on friday and havent got a response. The second problem i have is i bought a brand new laptop, and it doesnt have a serial port. Is there any type of adapter i can use that will work reliably with the AKM cable?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Re: AKM cable problem.

There was a schematic somewhere on the akm website of the converter. It is pretty simple with a couple of transistors and a rs232 converter.
I've tried 2 usb to serial converters and neither worked for me.

I know there is an adapter to convert the cable to USB mode. I think Andrew sells it!
Another thing, Im pretty sure that Andrew ( AKM Cables) has a warranty for his cables, dont know how long or any details, may try to call and find out!
