Air bag light is on whats up?

my airbag light just came on out of no where and i have no idea where to even start trying to fix it. also is this one of those things you don't mess with unless your a specialist?

i am pretty good with electronics and good with a multimeter. so i'm not a total moron, i just don't want to eat a airbag!

i was reading about that. putting power to test wires is not a good idea at all. is there a way to get a ballpark idea of what is wrong by the number of "air bag" light flashes?
