Accel System 7 Dfi

Is any one using the ACCEL SYSTEM 7 DFI? Am having tuning issues and need to talk to someone with succes with this system. Have had mine tuned on the engine dyno by someone who went to school dor the ACCEL system but all he could do was wide open throttle. This does me no good, for any thing part throttle. Any help would be app. Thanks.

I hope you didn't pay too much for just WOT tuning...

In a nutshell, you need to do the folllowing:

1.) Tune your VE table so that your actual air:fuel ratio matches the values specified in your target a:f table for all MAP/RPM points -- not just at WOT. This SHOULD have been done for you by the tuner on the engine dyno.

2.) Tune Target A:F/timing/etc... for power and driveablility.

3.) Tune transient fueling for accel/decel/tip-in response.

4.) Tweak Idle and cold/warm start stuff as needed.

If you must tune this yourself, you may do well to acquire some type of wideband O2 sensor. It is not neccessary to tune an engine, but can drastically reduce your time spent tuning.

I my self have been looking into the Gen 7 to purchase and after speaking to people I was told to speak to either Jobb Spetter at the Turbo People shop, Kinsler Fuel Injection or another person I spoke to that was very informed with the system was Kurt Urban at Wheel to Wheel. All of these people new the system well and could aid in part throttle tuning. Jobb Spetter was one of the main people that as I was told aided in the development of the new Gen 7 and I was told he would have the most experience todate with this system.

I sold my Fast System in favor of this ECU. I have heard nothing but good things. I hope your's turns out ok. Kinda odd BES didn't know how to program the part throttle? I do know there is two versions of software a basic and proffesional, one is very limited screens and the other is all tuning screens.

Best of luck!

BES has now taken the car back and they are attemting to finish the tuning. Seems fuel pressure regulator is messing up, They will be replacing that and performing a leak down test too see if any damage has been done from going lean. Hoefully BES can get this straightened out and I can turn some high 10s N/A before the season is over.
