Re: Accel DFI

Well, really general information. I have Gen7 and haven't gotten the car running yet, so, I haven't gotten a chance to really play with it, but, I figured the more info I had, the better. I already read the entire manual about 10 times and have played with the software offline a bunch of times. I subscribe to the LT1_Editor list and there is a lot of useful information. Things to try, things people have done, etc.

One specific question I had was this .. A friend of mine has his cam in 2 degrees retarded. We are trying to figure out how to compensate for that in DFI. Using the VE Table Estimator; say we have an Intake Valve OPening Angle of 44 degrees, if the cam is retarded, would we change that there? How about in the general config page, there's a place for Crank Offset Degrees, would it go there? Or don't even worry about it?

Thanks,

Good question. I'd say change it in the ve predictor since your valve events are actually going to be shifted relative to normal. However, since the ve predicter is only an estimate, 2 degrees may not be enough to make any serious difference in the map that it will produce. Don't change it in the crank index offset, that's not what it's for, and it would skew your timing.

Re: Accel DFI

Yea, we played in the table and aren't showing much difference. We are just trying to get a tune going to get the car started and go from there. Of course, I may just get the Innovative WB setup and hook it up to the DFI and that will take care of the fuel requirements.

At any rate, you don't know of any good mailing lists or forums for DFI?

Thanks,

Sean
