Abs Inop
Abs Inop
How do I get rid of the ABS INOP light? It cam on after I programed my new key fob. Nothing wrong with the brakes. I have heard that sometimes a low voltage gets sent to the ABS system when programing the key fobs. Also, I have a low water light on. I don't have low water. How do I get rid of these lights on my dash?
Re: Abs Inop
For the low water, you can try cleaning your old sensor although that doesn't work most of the time, you can replace it with a new sensor, or you can just disconnect it. The sensor is located on the passenger side of the radiator, lower from the radiator cap, facing the engine. It is of square shape.
I would have the ABS code scanned at a dealership (or perhaps someone with a Tech 1 or 2 that you know) and make sure it is not some critical component. Once you find out what it is, you can post here and we'll see if we can help you further. Many times, a burnt out third brake light bulb (on spoiler) can cause that as well, so it may not be a bad idea to check it.
If you just want the light disabled, you can pull the bulb from the cluster or cut the abs light wire.
