A4 pressure offset to soften shifts ?

I understand that lowering the pressure offset value is supposed to soften up the shifts at a give throttle position.

The question is, how negative a number can or should one put in the table.

I'm trying to soften up the 1 - 2 and the 2 - 3 upshift at very light throttle application ... typically 6 to 30% throttle opening.

So far I've dropped the offset values by about 7 units in that portion of the curve and have blended in on the edges.
My lowest value in the 1 - 2 field is -13 at 18% throttle position in Normal mode.
My lowest value in the 1 - 2 field is -18 at 18% throttle position in Performance mode.
My lowest value in the 2 - 3 field is -16 at 25% throttle position Normal mode.
My lowest value in the 2 - 3 field is -19 at 18% throttle position in Performance mode

No changes were made to these tables above 43% throttle position.

I'm not really seeing much softening ... sort of wondering if I'm headed in the right direction and how much further I can go before I might be causing harm ...

Any help is appreciated.
