john, it would have to bea 94 or 95 PCM, since the 96 and 97 are OBD II. i am not sure what is needed, though.

Why would you want to do that? A speed density car is easy to tune and very versitile.

Most aftermarket ECM are a speed density setup

i believe he is not wanting to have to burn chips....

isn't there a way to tune a 94-95 PCM in speed density mode so it does not need a MAF?

Burning chips is not a problem at all. People are too afraid of it. The way I see it its the way to go.

Chips only cost around $5.50 a piece where as a new 94-95 computer cost how much ???? I would think $100 + easy. Plus too figure out the headache of swaping everything including a transmission possibly

You can get a very decent programmer for $150!

www.tunercat.com
www.xtronics.com (you need the pocket programmer 2)
www.akmcables.com (you need a cable and TTS datamaster)
www.digikey.com (get a amtel AT29C256 chip, I've never toasted any and they only cost $5.50 a piece)

don't worry about an UV eraser they are not needed if you use a AT29C25 chip
