93 chip removal?

How do I remove the eprom chip in my 93 z28? I am getting a mail order tune and need to send in my "broadcast code" so they can make a new chip for me. I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do this.

The code is is on the outside of the unit. Usually 4 letters such as BDZL. Your new piggy back chip should come with instructions.

Re: 93 chip removal?

ok i got it figured out. I lifted the ecm out (2 bolts) which is behind the passenger shock tower. Then removed the ecm from the platic holder (2 nuts). Then i took the cover off the ecm (4 little bolts) and saw the blue chip with the lettering. It was fairly easy to do.
