6sp conversion & LT1 edit

I'm trying to figure out if I can load a 6sp file on my PCM that I'm using for LT1 edit and have it work?

Thanks

You mean after converting the car to an M6? Yes... that's what I did.

Ya, I have an A4 now with LT1 edit.
We thought I might have to take it to a dealer to have them flash it with a stock M6 program.

But you're saying you loaded a 6sp program and that was it right?

Thanks
Tom

Yes, just program with a stock M6 program (anyone's), then read it back out (it'll have your VIN applied to it at this point), and you'll be able to modify it however you need to in LT1 Edit, when you're done re-program the car.

lol,

No thats not it. I have someone else do my programming for me and I'm not sure what you mean.

Are you saying that once I load a 6sp file into LT1 edit I read it on the screen?
I'm not sure how you read it out before you load it into the car?

Are you glad you did the conversion?

Okay, with LT1Edit you can only make changes to a program that has been extracted from a car that's PCM contains a registered VIN number.

[NOTE: I'm asuming that you're using LT1Edit that is registered specifically to your Vin (and maybe a few more).]

So get a stock 6 speed program from someone on the net. You won't be able to make any modification to that 6 speed program in LT1Edit because it's not a registered VIN.
But you can run PCMProg and write that program to your PCM. Then run PCMProg again and read the PCM to a file. At this point you will have a stock 6spd program with Your VIN applied to it.

Then you can modify the program in LT1Edit for your gear ratio, idle etc...

Then run PCMProg again and write the modified program into your PCM.

I LOVE my conversion.

Tom let me know what you need and I can help you with this.
I'm off Sat Sun and I have all the stuff to program your car.
If I have my Impala back I just need your PCM and we'll use my car to program your PCM.
