4l60e tuning
4l60e tuning
Hi All.
I have been chasing a problem with my 4l60e for some time now. No wot 2-3 shift. I tried a number of things and had no luck. After a recent rebuild I found I still had this problem. All shifts are fine everywhere except 2-3 wot. I lowered the shift rpm thresholds and mphs to 4500 rpm and 60 mph before I could half hearted get a shift. I decided since the whole problem I am having is with wot shift points I disabled kickdown mode in the constants table. To my surprise I now get all the shifts including 2-3 shifts at wot. I also seem to get a little more controlled shifts and since my car is a blower 383 less aggressive down shifts are better for me on the street.
My question is ....Are there any disadvantages to disabling the kickdown mode? I dont want to hurt anything till I can figure why the kickdown side wont wot 2-3 shift.
Thanks
