Just curious if its even possible or worth it to lock my converter at part throttle in 2nd ? im trying to get a little better fuel economy with my stall. setup in signature.

It's possible but will most likely be annoying, depending on how high your TC actually stalls at part throttle and what you've set your shift points to. I've played around with 2nd gear lockup and have given up using it for the moment. For part throttle there just wasn't enough MPH/RPM range between lockup and then shifting to third for it to be worthwhile, and it ended up being jerky because you'd have 2nd lock, 2nd unlock for shift to 3rd, 3rd lock. Then for more aggressive acceleration it's unlocked anyway, so I haven't figured out useful tuning yet for normal operation to make 2nd lockup useful, for my setup. You can play around with the TCC lockup delay so that if you're accelerating through to the 3rd gear it won't lockup, but will lockup if maintaining speed.

My converter stalls to 3k, but if yours is stalling at 3400 and/or you have your shift points set very aggressively, you might find more use for it. Having it locked in manual mode I think is a better route, so you can hold it in 2nd and force it to be locked up with low TPS (or whatever you want it to do). I did all my tuning based on desired RPM and then converted it back to MPH. With just 3.23 gearing even a good spread in RPM between the 2nd gear and 3rd gear shifts only works out to be 1-2 MPH at the RPM I wanted to shift at, I don't think you'd have much better results given your 3.55 gearing and 3400 stall unless you have really high shift points, but it's certainly worth a try. A better strategy might be to have it shift to 3rd earlier for low TPS and lock in 3rd.

Yeah i have it shifting pretty early and locking up early in 3rd, so probally wouldnt benefit much from it .. was locking in 2nd after reading your reply it was just a thought but have decided it isnt going to be worth the trouble.
