1997 Z28 speedometer off because of new rear end. Help!

Hi,

I recently bought a 1997 Z28 with 32,000 miles on it. It has had a number of upgrades including a new rear end (411) and bigger tires. The speedometer runs about 8 mph fast at 65 mph. I have called all over Toledo trying to find someone who can fix this. I have been told it is not possible because of something that was changed in the 1997's. Is it possible? Anyone in nw Ohio or se Michigan have a shop I can call? The thing that kills me the most is that I am racking up unneeded miles due to the faster speed!

You need the PCM reprogrammed. Madtuner, PCMforless, Trifecta and a host of others can do this for you (as well as make some other changes that might give you some HP).

Thanks for the tips. I would really rather have a pro do this. Is it easy?
