108/160

my new engine has a nasty split at Idle and off the gas.
At idle i get L108 and R160, same thing happens when i let off the gas while driving. Any ideas what to start doing?
Its a 383 with a soild roller 25x/26x cam. I also have a ASM Monobload and i have the blades cracked open a tinny bit so the car idles.

Thanks
MArcin

Re: 108/160

Try playing with the throttle stops and see if you can't get the IAC to work the idle instead of cracking the blades. You could also drill the IAC bleed hole (which isn't found on ANY aftermarket TB's but it 11/64" on a stock one) to help the IAC compensate with the larger cam.

You may be SOL though because of the size of the cam you're probably running into a lot of reversion which isn't going to help things.

Re: 108/160

This is a common problem for larger cams but I think that monoblade may be exaggerating the problem too since it lacks the IAC ports the smaller TBs have.

The solution is to command the computer to use Power Enrichment mode during 0% throttle. Then use that BLM blocker that is floating around to keep the BLMs at 128/128. After all that is complete you can actually adjust how much fuel you need at idle. Because of reversion you actually want to aim leaner than you want the motor to run so the O2 sensors will show lean(.0xx-.2xx mV) when its actually right on.

Re: 108/160

Do i just edit the %TPS for WOT from 400-1600 (0s in there), and then adjust the PE table in that area so the O2s read around 450?

Re: 108/160

get the o2s at about 200 250. becuase the st blms will make correction as well. you can also make your st blms have limitation as well. you can make it where they dont adjust but from 120 to 140. instead of 64 and 256 (i think)

oh and by the way you can lock your blms with tunercat. ( i havent figured it out yet. but if you go to the help on help. the welcome page says something about it but you need version "L".

Re: 108/160

The recent version of LT1 edit allows locking the BLMs at 128 durring PE mode too. And it's very easy to do! (I really like LT1 edit )

Id stop at 1200 when you set the TPS to 0% for PE mode.

I looked at your log.. did you limit the integrators(sterms) to 135? They seem to stop around there so I was just curious. If you did limit them to 135 then you also need to use the BLM blocker so the Lterms stay at 128/128. You also may wanna limit the spark advance to around 28* or so to see if that helps out any.

Doesnt look think the locker worked. I think I had the same problem before where I couldnt get it to actually lock the BLMs on the first try but they did on the 2nd. Also, with tunercat you need to limit the integrators so they dont keep adding fuel... somewhere around 135 is where I have mine set.

EDIT: I just checked the log again and its not in PE mode during 0% TPS so that could be part of the problem. But again even if you lock the BLMs at idle.. the integrators will still be adding fuel so you really dont get anywhere until you limit them.

Re: 108/160

I dunno man. If you did what you said you did then it should be working...

You can email me your file if you want.. only takes a minute for me to set everything up if you can get it to work.

Re: 108/160

When you block the BLMīs using Lt1 Edit, does it lock the integrators too (ST FT)? If not, is there a way of doing it with LT1 edit?
