will 275's fit in a 2nd gen?
Would 275's fit in the wheelwells without rubing? Also What drag radial would you guys recomend for daily use? I heard the nittos get ok wet traction and the bfg's wear very quickly. Would the 275 nittos hook on my setup?
The rims are 15" alum. and there are 255 's on them now. So the tires would rub on the fender lip while going over large bumps? Also what size slicks can you run without altering the well?

i had stock suspension and stock wells, and i ran 275/60/15 bfg radial t/a's and they rubbed on big bumps like a ****.
bit i didn't care, i just put a shackle on the leaf and rolled the lip.
i do have to admit they look sweet... but u never know they might work they might not, my suspension might be a bit weak maybe not? who knows... get some and try them out and if they done work out for u, im sure that the dealer would exchange them.

A friend's 70 Z ran 275/60's w/out any probs. Stock ride height etc. You just have to get the right back spacing and they will fit.
My 70 SS didn't have the proper back spacing and the springs were worn out so the 275's did rub. Actually 235's rubbed when I hit a bump. Glad I sold that car.

Talos, you probably didnt quite have the right backspacing on your wheels to run the 275's. I have Weld Pro Stars 15x8 with either 4.5" or 5" BS. I don't recall right off the top of my head which it is, but I *think* it might be 5". This puts the tire farther inwards realtive to the fender, so maybe thats why I have the clearance.
When I was considering which tires to buy for my 71, I borrowed some 275-60-15 Drag Radials on 15x8 rims. Fit fine, no rubbing on bumps. I decided to go with 295-50-15's and they rub slightly on big bumps, even after I rolled the inner fenders.
We've got 275/60/15's on my dad's '73, and they fit fine IMO
. They're mounted on 8" Chev Rally Rims (which should provide the proper back-spacing). The car is at stock height, and it has air shocks in the back, so we have it lifted up a little, but even with it lowered, or over bumps, the tires don't rub.
