where to get holly parts

where to get holly parts

i have a vac sec holly carb part # 3310-4 0186 that someone tried to convert to mech sec. what i need is all of the linkage and the vac part for the sec. i have googled but i didnt get anywhere.

be an ebay'er... someone should have what you need somewhere in the US.. Either that or call around to a few car garages that work on oldies in your area. More than likely they'l have some linkages and parts laying around. Maybe even the next Swap Meet coming through. All else fails, call Holley direct and they can find it for you.

Yeah, a junk 3310 carb is a good starting point the get all the metal stuff- vacuum diaphragm housing, linkages, etc. But don't you dare just bolt on a junkyard vacuum secondary housing without replacing the vacuum diaphragm and gasket that seals it to the carb body- that stuff is always junk in an old carb. Craked, hardened, leaking. Trashed.

You can buy this stuff separately but I prefer to use a complete rebuild kit from AED (not the Holley Renew kit). The AED kit for the 3310 comes with the diaphragm. The Holley kit does not. Besides, if the vacuum secondary stuff is fiddled with you just KNOW they messed around inside the carb as well.

BTW- if you are concerned about getting the jetting, accelerator pump, squirters, secondary metering plate and all correct, etc. Holley has a dowloadable PDF on their website with all the original factory specs on all of their carbs. So you KNOW if you have the right stuff in it or if it's been fiddled with by a previous owner. Almost ALL old Holley carbs have been fiddled with. Trying to "tune around" a bad situation or other malfuction. Trust me, I've rebuilt a LOT of carbs- you WANT to do a complete tear-down, spec-check and rebuild on your carb if you want it to run right. You'll probably chase your tail for months if you don't.
