what's it worth?

I have a 60,000 mile 1979 Camaro Berlinetta with a nice interior. It has some rust behind the rear wheel. One front fender is new and needs paint. It also has the following mods:

383 CID
10:1 CR
Aluminum RPM heads Cam & Intake
Roller rockers
Holley 750 VS
3200 stall converter
T350 trans
3.73:1 10 bolt posi
Weld Racing Pro-Stars
BFG DR's

I'm selling it and have no clue what to ask ... any opinions?

It will sell better but prob won't get that much more than if you just sell it like it is. This is just my opinion. Actually I can back it with personal experience. I had an offer for a car I used to own but turned it down, painted it, and ended up selling it for no more than half of what the paint job cost me.

Just my .02

I'd offer $2500 if I was buying it then let the owner sit on it to see if he got what he wanted.

The paint is a dilema ... I've had quotes from $1000 to $2600. The car might be worth $1000 more and I might get $3500'ish. That'd leave me with $2500. There's no way I could get $5000 for a better paint job on the highesty selling Camaro ever (280,000 I think).

I just sold my 70 SS 350 for $3k. It ran and drove very well and had 4 wheel disk breaks and needed body work like yours. The paint all there, just not shiny anymore. I'm sure I could have held out for a little more, but then again maybe not.

Its pointless to get it painted if you don't fix the rust, and that gets expensive. Just sell it as is, you'll never get your $ out of it if you just get it sprayed. Late 70's Berlinetta's aren't that sought after.
