What exhaust is best?

My friend has a 1967 Camaro with a 327 and he wants to put an exhaust on it. What is his best bet.

There is no best! There is only good for what you want. If it's a show car a set of chrome side pipes might be good. If he races a set of Hooker Super Comps. might fit the bill. If he just wants to make noise a set of Headman Headers might be all he needs.

Re: What exhaust is best?

yea and once he decides what he wants, make some phone calls, I ended up finding it a lot nicer to have mine done by a small shop just outside of town, he wanted $350 and set me up from the headers back with custom bent 3" tubing and a fancy H-pipe muffler.

saved me custom bending the tubing in my garage for some reason 84's weren't setup to take dual pipes and mufflers....curious huh?

... actually does it really need exhaust? I mean a couple of long tube headers may be just long enough to shoot the exhaust out behind the driver so that your ears dont ring

Re: What exhaust is best?

If you want to, get some 3inch exhaust tubing. Weld a exhaust flange on one end and a 45degree bend in the middle. Then have them end out the side behind the doors. This will look badass, sound amazing, and be VERY cheap! This would be loud and might not be legal.

I have cutouts and plan on having them open most the time.
