warning! year one ls1 1st gen headers
the year one ls1 retro. headers for 1st gens do not clear the steering box. when i called year one to ask about the clearence problem, they just told me to hit the header with a hammer until it cleared. the reason they don't clear is because they used a car with rack and pinion as the modle for the headers ( but they wont tell you that). when i called to return the headers they were complete jackasses, they said that all the ls1 swap header had to be massaged and that i should just keep theirs. if your going to run headers on your ls1 swap go with street and performance (they clear with no problems).
S&P rocks
Dude, beat them with a hammer?!?!?! Id tell year one to shove the hammer up their @ss!!!
My S&P headers didnt claer my motor mount at first so they paid for the shipping to send them back and then modified them with no complaints!!
S&P all the way!

My headers looked like they were tapped with a hammer as well to flatten it around the gearbox. Is there a specific header that does not have this problem? I always thought it was a normal problem. BTW, mine is a 67 with no power steering.
