Post vortec heads

since you can install vortex heads on an older block will the full injection system bolt right up too if you use vortex heads

well, you'll need all the sensors, and wiring harness, but it should bolt up fine.
You'll have to look into how adaptable the ECU is - you might have to have a new chip burned for your combo.
You could also take the factory EFI manifold, fuel rails, injectors, etc and hook it up to an aftermarket ECU - that way you can tune the engine the way you want it, and not worry about anything else confusing the computer.
also, I'll bet the ECU for the Vortech motors wants an electronic speedo input. There is a place that makes a piece to convert your cable speedo to an electronic output, but you'll need an electronic spedometer then.

I think he meant an intake off a newer fuel injected motor, so YES, like BluEyes said, if you got all the electronics hooked up, you could use the fuel injection on the old block with vortec heads.

Youll have a hard time getting a crank sensor to work on the old school block but other than that yeah..
