tranny swap question

hey whats up guys, im new to this area of the board. i am in the market for a 69 Z28 4 speed, but everyone that i find that interests me seems to be an automatic. is it very expensive or technical to swap one of these from an automatic to a 4 speed? what all would be involved in this process. thanks for the help in advance guys.

Not to tough to swap over; literally a bolt-in with every part you need available in reproduction if you need it.

You say you're looking for a 69 Z-28 but all the ones you find are automatics. A real Z only came with a 4 speed and I doubt that many have been changed to autos. Most of the ones you're looking at are not real Z's if they have autos. Didn't know if it was critical to have a real Z-28 or not, but it's probably the most cloned car out there.

thanks for the help. doesnt sound like it would bad at all to swap out then. also thanks for letting me know about them only coming in the 4 speed. i never knew that. it honestly doesnt matter to me if its a real Z or not, though i would love to have a true one. nice collection of cars you have there by the way. the all look so beautiful

Thanks! I didn't know if you knew or not so I just threw it out there. I'm not a numbers-matching guy, but you don't want to pay extra thinking it's a real Z and then find out it isn't.

Good luck with your search....it can be a lot of fun.
