Tranny options for a 79' 350 2 bolt

Someone said to me that the current tranny I have in my firebird (94 v6 3.4l 5 speed standard) would bolt up fine to an older 350. Can anyone confirm this? thanks

It will physically bolt up; the thing you won't be able to use on the older 350 is the flywheel. One piece seal cranks have a smaller pattern than the two piece seal crank did.
