stock aluminum intakes... r they n e good
i have an 81 z with a 350....its been rebuilt and has an almost stock idle, stock heads with a performance valve job, roller rockers and pathetic 8.5 compression ratio....i have a 750 cfm quadrajet, shorty headers and a perfomance ignition i've always heard good things about chevy alum intakes and i was wondering if it would b worth it to but an edelbrock performer or rpm... i was told the intake cam stock on the car ang it has all the egr crap which i've capped off...thanx
The aluminum LT-1 intake is good (early 70s). The 80s-era aluminum low-rise intake, however, is purely a weight savings piece- it don't flow worth a crap.
If it's got the 4-hole carburetor pattern to fit a QJet (tiny primaries, huge secondaries) it's an emissions-era piece and not good for performance. An Edlebrock performer will kick it's a$$.
