Speed Demon help!!!!!!!!!

In my '82 Z I have a Manley forged piston 10:1 355..AFR 195's(64cc)...Comp XE 274 cam..Weiand Stealth dual plane intake,MSD 8361 pro billet..6AL..Blaster SS coil and a Speed Demon 750 DP.Motor has about 4k miles on it.Compression test reveals 145-147 psi across the board so all is sealing well inside. The problem is from day one I have had a flat spot/dead spot just off idle.Sitting with the car idleing and hit it..dead spot then it revs.Delayed reaction even.I have the carb jetted at 78/85 right now with the best results at cruise/WOT.I have installed the optional tap in idle air bleeds that cam with it to help speed up activation of the idle circuit as per Demon due to it being lean right off idle and it was supposed to cure the dead spot also..wrong.I have swapped from the stock 31 squirter to right now I have a 42 with the best results but still a dead spot..bit it seems to be lazy/slow revving also which should mean it is rich but I get no clouds when I romp it.Almost like it has a lean spot and then goes rich on the intial rev?Any smaller squirter and the dead spot turns into a canyon.I have tried EVERY pump cam Holley offers and have the orange in there currently.Any ideas what could be giving me this dead spot.Besides that I am very happy with the carb and its performance..bt the dead spot is killing me.The car is a 4 speed manul with 3.73's (26" tire) and weighs right around 3270.Please anyone?I am ready to put the Edelbrock back on from my last motor!
