Speaker install for a 73?

I was just wondering if it is possible to put some speakers somewhere up front in a 1973 Camaro...I would like to put a good sound system in mine. I have the 6x9s in the rear, but nothing up front. Thanks!

not to sure but i have an 80 camaro and i have speakers in my doors. i have also seen people put speakers in the center console under the radio in the front of it not sure what kind of center console the 73 has but its worth a shot on either spots.i have 4 inch speakers in door 6x9 in rear deck and 2 10 inch mtx subs in trunk and u can hear me 30 seconds at least away through woods and over my loud a$$ exhaust.

You can get a pair of speakers that go under the dash from several differnt places (NPD, The Paddock, yearone) or fab a pair of 3 1/2's to go in place. But you almost have to remove the whole dash to install them. If you install speakers in the door, check the spacing behind the speakers, you may have to put a spacer behind the speakers, so the magnet does contact the metal in the door, if it does the you will lose all the bass from that speaker. A simple ring of partcle board worked for me.

I had a stereo shop install my speakers under my dash. They did a great job, it was just another install for them, and I didn't have to take a chance of messing things up. It also made the sound much better.
