restoring a 69'er

Can someone give me a ROUGH estimate of what they think would be a reasonable price to do some major body work on my Camaro?

I've got a 69 Camaro that needs...
-drivers side floorpans (complete front to back)
-passenger side rocker panel (partial panel behind the door)
-rear window panel (between the window and the trunk lid)
-trunk floor pan
-finish work on the firewall to make it smooth as glass and painted the same color as the car
-doesn't need any other panels...all look good from the outside (fingers crossed)

I plan on delivering the car stripped of all chrome, interior and parts (including engine if they want it out) to the body shop. They'll remove and install all the metal/body work above. Then strip it down and shoot it with a base/clearcoat cranberry red w/black Z/28 stripes (and bury the stripes in clearcoat). I'll come and pick up the car after it's sprayed and put it together myself.

Can you give me an idea of what would be a reasonable charge for this work. I'm not looking to get screwed, but I want a DAMN good job for a decent price.

anyone in NC care to recommend a shop?

Thanks
Brian

when it comes to body work on a 30+ year old car, there is always more then you can see. You're probably looking at 10k minimum to do it all right.

you can't do most of that yourself? Maybe you should re-consider and get a different newer car.

no unlike you I wasn't born with the ability to do body work. What kind of a response was that anyways..."get a newer car". Jerk

Like was stated before, when dealing with a 30+ year old car it is always more then it looks, I took mine in because the passengerside rocker was rusting through and 23,000 later I walked out with the car. They had to replace everything except pasenger door, and the 2 rear quarter panels.

That's what I'm afraid of...but I've looked HARD down through the quarterpanels and I've been all inside the front panels looking around and they're not rusted through. As a matter of fact all the outer sheetmetal looks to be 5 to 6 years old.

The floor panels (firewall to the trunk pan) look like they're original with 35 years of hard usage. They're rusted beyond repair...that's where most of my money will be spent.

I expected it to be expensive, but I'd rather someone that knows what they're doing do it. It's going to be a major restoration project and I want it to be done right in the end. I'd rather pay up and have a perfect car than spend 5 years tweaking and learning and end up with a mess.

Besides I'd spend what it would cost in the labor alone buying a mig welder, plasma cutter, air hammers and chisles, spray guns, air sanders and I'd still end up with spiderwebs and dust in the paint no matter how well I seal my garage.

I am looking for a X44 camaro without the drivetrain and in EXCELLENT body condition though. If I can find another car in better shape I'll end up saving money instead of going through the one I have. I'm new to car restoration...but not dumb.
