Recommendations for books on shortblock assembly?

Try this one:
"How to Build Chevrolet Small-Block V-8 Race Engines" by Bill Tarrnat and Chris Hawkinson.
Motorbooks International Powerpro Series.

Chapter 7 has 36 pages and 50 pics. on short block assy. The rest isn't bad either.

Go to this site and look under the section for books. Also their tech section is a must read for any hot rodder.

FWIW Jim, I was working at R&M when they put these books together... alot of top-notch info in there from an excellent group of guys.
