rear info needed! please help!

Does anyone here know if a 69 Z28 complete rear end can swap into my 95 Z28? I posted in Drivetrain section but not really any responses. I am pretty sure my discs can be adapted to the 69 rear, but is it more narrow than my existing 95 rear. Is there anything I can do to make it work right ie: if it’s too narrow, somehow lengthen it to the same length as my 95 rear….Any help would be appreciated….

Most likely not. First off, its too narrow. You'd need to make/find a bracket to hook up the torque arm to the center section. The 69 rear has leaf spring perches, whereas you would need to weld coil spring perches on. Also, if you have ABS and/or traction control, it wont function.

Late rear ends have the cast in bolt holes for the torque arm to the transmission. All in all that 69Z rear end would be worth 5 or 6 fourth gen units.
