Question on converting to serpentine

Well, after owning it for 20 years I've finally decided to start building my 78 Z28 up the way I want it. I want to go with a serpentine belt set-up, but was wondering:

Would I be better off getting a used set-up or just avoid the hassle and spend the $750 for the GM kit that comes with a new P/S & water pumps, alternator & A/C compressor?

Any of you guys done the switch?
