It's raining here again, days now, days to come. It's so cold a couple more degrees cooler and I'll be shoveling snow, thirty-six this morning. Clean and simple. When you install the tube through the gas cap hole, how does it attach to the cage crossmember?

So it's just a tube sliding over a tube?

 

Yep.

If you look close at the pictures there is a pull pin outside the car for quick removal of the chute assembly. Although the teather is still bolted on.
