Oxygen Manifold

I am thinking of how hard it would be to install headers on my 1980 camaro without having the oxygen manifold visible from the top of the engine. Is it possible to relocate the oxygen line to the bottom of the engine or at the end of a long tube header. Ive seen on a newer model (97) vortec 7.4 where the oxygen ports are ported at the 1st cylinder on the top of each manifold only, i was thinking of doing that, but the engine would look even better with it not visible at all. I would like to totally eliminate the Oxygen system. but in this case i live in california and have to keep the car smogged.

I believe he's speaking about the smog pump and the lines that go into the exhaust manifolds/headers.

No problem Eric! Back to the question, I would say it would still work as long as the line is hooked anywhere into the exhaust manifold, top or bottom. If you drop to one line it will need to be larger than if you use the individual lines the 80 Camaro had.

The problem though is that California may not pass it if it doesn't remain the way the factory set it up.

Ok thanks. Now what about headers? Could i do a single port o2 injection running the lines into the headers near the 3bolt flange?
