Post Need help with my motor

I have an 1980 camaro Z/28, I took the intake off in September but never got around to putting the new one on. I was going to buy a new motor but I just cant aford it now. One cylinder head is unbolted but never been off and It has been open to contaminates over the winter, Its it still ok to bolt the one cylinder head on and intake and fire it up or does it have to get rebuilt

The head was unbolted and left still on the motor? Did you break the head gasket seal? If coolant got into the cylinders, it can quickly etch the bores. If it was me, I'd rebuild. But you can take the chance and bolt things back together and see what happens... only be out the cost of the gaskets. Just make sure there is no coolant puddled in the cylinders or you can hydraulic a rod.

As long as you didnt break the gasket "seal" then it should be ok,just torque the bolts back down. If you did, then replace the head gasket and then torque it back down and put the intake on,drop in the distributor and roll on.
