Looking for suggestions

I am putting a LT1 and A4 out of a '97 Z28 into my '80 Camaro Coupe. I will probably replace the suspension parts with '80 Z28 parts as I hear it's suspension was pretty good. I need some advice on what to replace the rear end with. This will be one of my 'just for fun' cars, and the motor will not remain stock for long. What rear could I install that I wouldn't have to worry about breaking the first few times I take it to the track? I'm also thinging 411's. Of course I'm not looking to spend more on the tranny than I bought the car for. Any suggestions?

well iv'e seen this setup on alot of camaro's. Currie 9" with aluminum housing, nodular iron 9+ Race Case, billet 1350 yoke, 31 spline axles, tapered roller bearings. and so on but the currie 9' rear is a good choice for the strip. well have fun.

Drag car, Pro-Tourer, or street car....build up the 8.5" 10-bolt from the '80 Camaro with aftermarket axles, Eaton posi, gears and a T/A cover. Have the tubes welded to the meatball and the spring perches reinforced. Even if you build the LT1, that rear axle can handle it.

You know Kyle.

I kicked around the idea of a Fab 9, but since I didn't know 100% where the perches were going, I decided against that and went with a housing that allowed me to use the adjustable perches.
