Intermediate cable for Emergency brakes....

Mine snapped when I put too much pressure on the ebrake pedal. I knew I snapped it so I took the cable out - as well as the metal rod (its maybe a foot long with a hook on each end) and teo retaining metal pieces.

I got a new cable but cant for the life of me figure out where the heck that metal rod goes.

The metal rod hooks into the frame somewhere and just guides the cable. There is a hole in the passenger side frame rail for it (I think). THis is 1st gen right?
