HP/Torque output estimation

Hey Guys,

I figured this was probably the place to go to ask for some opinions as to the output of the motor I am working on.

Heres whats done to it:

(Its a 4 bolt main 350 btw)

Bored 0.030 over (Line bored)
Performer cam
Performer intake
Converted 1.94/1.5 Valves to 2.02/1.6
Exhaust on heads ported
Fluid Balancer
Flat top TRW pistons, should produce 10-10.5:1 compression
Steel Forged Crankshaft
650 CFM Carb (Don't have just yet)
Moly rings
Probably K&N and good plugs
Probably Hedman Shorty Headers

Any guesses?

Thanks

Need more info like cam specs (lift , duration ) and more head info like casting # if GM or aftermarket brand.

specs

Sorry about the delay, the engine and heads are being stored elsewhere and I just now had a chance to get at them.

The Performer Plus cam:

Duration@ 0.006" Lift Int. 278deg Exh 288deg
" @ 0.050" Lift Int. 204deg Exh 214deg

Lift @ Cam: Int 0.280" Exh 0.295"
Lift @ Valve: Int 0.420" Exh 0.442"

The heads are casting number 3947041, which according to my book is '68-'70 and had some pretty high hp applications. They no longer have the 1.94/1.5 valves though, 2.02/1.6 now.

That help at all?

Will

Re: specs

that cam is tiny. is that goin in a camaro? if so youd be much better off using like 220('ish)duration@.050 cam and performer rpm intake. w/same shortblock as you (but much bigger solid cam) and some ported (lightly) camel hump heads, my 3rd gen went 13.3's consistantly. which should be around 380 HP. w/my new alum. trickflow heads, Ive gone 12.77 already and know theres more in the tune that I havent gotten to messing w/yet.
good luck.

That cam is rather tiny, but try it out. Sometimes those small cams really can work. I run small cams in my combos(at least I think so)and my cars seem to run well.

Trash the shorty headers and go with some real ones.....you will be much closer to a tuned exhaust this way. Ofcourse the best way to go with tuned exhaust is calculate the corect length of the pipes before the collector and then have them custom made......but you don't want to spend more for the pipes than the motor.

I would suggest a headman or hooker......and use Mr. Gasket copper gaskets.....no leaks....last forever.
