How to tune a carb?
How to tune a carb?
Anybody know how to tune a carb? Or and websites or books that show you how? My dad has a 70 Chevelle and he sent the stock carb to holley and got it rebuilt. Now that its back we have to tune it. But my dad doesnt know crap for how to tune it, his friends did it for him before. I dont know either I only have experince with EFI. Anybodys help would be appreciated.
Here's some good info. http://bob2000.com/carb.htm
Start with the float levels then move on to the idle mixture screws. Your timing should be close before attempting to start tuning...get a good base time in it. Once you get it running and idling good you can then work on part and full throttle transitions and jetting(Oxygen sensors work well but I like drag strip testing
and plug reading.
