how much for a first gen camaro?

How much should I be looking to spend for a 1st gen or early 2nd gen camaro?

Taking in consideration that I don't care about matching #s or anything %100 orignal... I just want something that I could drive during the weekends.

Also, I don't know anyone who can help me with bodywork or painting.... and that seens to be real expensive.

I think restoring a car will be awesome, because you get the satifaction of saving another camaro, but I think that "way" will be more expesive at the end.

So what are my option and were should I look?

will $8k get me some where, how about less (I need to start saving)

thanks
leo

HAHA!!! 8k won't get you much in the good to great category for 1st gen Camaros. Try the 10 and up range.

Then again, I bought my numbers matching 69 for a dollar, so what do I know.

That sounds like a cool story, how did you got that deal? Would you sell me your 69 for $2? (you will gain double of your investment )

I know a guy here in central NJ that has a 69 SS350 body for under $7000 and low mileage. It's an X55 car so it's definitely a real SS350. It's blue, 4 speed with 12 bolt posi that has 4.10 gears in it now. The rear has also been converted to discs. The car is stripped down and ready to be repainted. No bondo. You provide your own engine and trans. It's a pretty decent deal considering it's almost impossible to find a non-rusted original metal car here on the East coast.

I just found a 67 all original plain camaro, 10 bolt, original 327, powerglide, etc.. $3000...told my friend who wanted one..he bought it this past saturday. it needs shocks, tires, some other work, but the guys parents were the original owners..he drove it home..

HAHA, it's called having parents and grandparents that knew what a real car was inthe 60s. It was my mom's form high school. My grandpa saved it for me, too bad he couldn't save the 78 Vette too. I bough tit off him for a dollar cause he said I had to pay something for it. Selling it to you? HAHA!!! Sorry this car stays in the family. But I always ask for at least $15,000, because that's the lowest amount of money it's worth. Had it appraised a few times.

On a serious note, good luck on finding you're own. I hope you find one soon.
