Question How Much $ Is This Car Worth

I FOUND A 1968 CAMARO SS WITH 98,00 ORIGINAL MILES. THIS CAR IS ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR THE ANTENNA , HEADLINER,TIRES, AND BATTERY WHICH HAD BEEN REPLACED. IT HAS THE 327 WITH THE 300 HORSE HEADS AND 2-SPEED POWERGLIDE.BLUE WITH BLACK INTERIOR. IT HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT ALL ITS LIFE. INTERIOR IS PERFECT. BODY IS PERFECT.ALL THIS CAR NEEDS IS A GOOD WAX JOB. AN OLD MAN HAD OUT IN HIS YARD AND I STOPPED AND TALKED TO HIM. HE SAID HE WOULD SELL IT TO ME. JUST WONDERING WHAT YOU GUYS THINK IT IS WORTH.SORRY NO PICS. THE CAR IS JUST LIKE IT WAS WHEN THE MAN BOUGHT IT AND THE ONLY PARTS THAT DIDNT COME ON THE CAR ARE THE ONES LISTED ABOVE. OH ALMOST FORGOT. IT DOES HAVE A VERY SMALL VALVECOVER LEAK.YOU CAN SEE WHERE A COUPLE OF DROPS ARE STARTING TO COME PAST THE GASKET. THE MAN SAID HE COULDNT COMPLAIN CAUSE IT HAS WENT 34 YEARS WITHOUT LEAKING.

You had better look more closely at this car. The SS option was not available with the 327, and I do not think that there was ever a powerglide installed in an SS Camaro. Things are not always as they seem!

There is no such thing as an SS 327. If it's a real SS it should have a 350 or 396 in it. You could get the Powerglide in an SS so don't let that fool you. Check the engine closely and get the codes off the front passenger side and post them so we can help you decode it. Also get the VIN and post that. Assuming it's not an SS and just a regular Camaro with a 327/PG, if there's no hidden rust or bondo, it should be worth $4000-7000 depending on all the mechanical stuff and interior.

WELL I THOUGHT HE SAID IT WAS A 327 BUT IT IS A 350 WITH THE DOUBLE HUMP HEADS AND IT HAS THE 350 EMBLEMS ON IT. I WENT AND CHECKED IT OUT CLOSELY BECAUSE IT WAS GETTING DARK WHEN I SAW IT THE FIRST TIME AND I WAS IN A HURRY. HE HAS A LIST OF ALL THE NUMBERS AND THEY ALL MATCH I'LL HAVE TO GET A COPY AND POST THEM BUT IT WILL BE LATER THIS WEEK BEFORE I CAN GO BACK.BODY IS PERFECT STILL THE ORIGINAL PAINT ONLY 3 CHIPS IN IT AND I'M 99% SURE IT IS ORIGINAL. IT COULD USE A GOOD WAXING AND THE INTERIOR IS PERFECT.I'LL HAVE TO TAKE THE DIGITAL CAMERA BACK WITH ME SO YOU GUYS CAN SEE IT.

Sounds promising. If it turns out to be an original #'s matching SS350 with no real body rust, it should be worth at least $12-15K depending on what else it needs besides paint. Check the floors and trunk really close, they are known to rust out. Look at the rear to make sure it has a 12 bolt rear. It should have multi-leaf rear springs as well if it's a real SS. Get what information you can and we'll try to help you as much as possible. Ask him if he has any original paperwork, that adds a lot to the value.

8 grand for a near prefect numbers matching? If so, steal that quick!

That is way low for a numbers matching vehicle...even a plain jane.

If the #'s match, $8,000 is a steal. Hope you'll be able to sleep at night.

in the process of purchasing it. I had to get it appraised to get the money from the bank so one of my buddies is going to appraise it for me. So maybe it will be sitting in my garage by this weekend. Then I will sleep real good at night
