Hey guys...
Hey guys...
Hello everyone, I am kinda new to first gens. I have done research in the past seeing as it has been my dream car for a long time. Well I finally got one. Its a 69 camaro and it's pretty much just a shell, no rear but has disc brakes up front. I am thinking of going "Pro Touring" with it with a 4th gen rear, 6 speed and a Fuel Injected 350/383. I will be checking the boards out from time to time but just wanted to say hey. This will be my 4th camaro owned to date. I currently have a 91 RS convertible (in sig) and have owned a 1989 RS t-tops 305 5 speed and a 1981 Berlinetta v-6 auto t-tops.

That's all.
A 1st gen with an LS1 and 6M is great, adding big brakes and cool wheels is even better, but whatever happened to the phrase "street machine"?
I am not a fan of the phrase "pro touring" but everyone knows what it means when you say it. If I say I am building a "street machine" they just look at you funny, but because so many magazines do use that phrase and it is common, I will use it to get my point acrossed to get people to understand what I am trying to do. Not saying it is right, why not just call it Touring or modern touring... ahh oh well...
Thanks for checking out my post, I hope to be here more as soon as I get my car down here to see what everyone is doing to their cars and get ideas.

I put one in my 91 and it was fairly easy and the upgrade was really nice, now I know 1st gens are leaf and the rears are narrower but I was thinking of converting it to a 4 link setup or to coilovers. Plus you get the disk brake rear and decent gearing (3.42) for like $300 plus shipping. I put 3.23's in my 91 and it cost me 250 plus shipping. The car has no rear now so I would need to buy one, and 10 and 12 bolts are pretty expensive and then I would need to convert them to disk anyway so why not try it and see how it works out!
If it doesn't work than I can always either sell it or put it in something else! So its worth a shot!
