help id a block #

have a buddy that bought a 81 trans am for $300 looks good concidering the money iven for the car. the problem is it is not a 301 or so we think. here is a number off the block 060014yn.....what the heck is it. we think it is a pontiac but all of the 301 gaskets are way to small.

gonna need more info

check the date casting number under the distributor, the casting number on the passenger side rear of block, and also check the freeze plugs, how many are there on each side? Some engines from Poncho had the engine size cast right into the side of the block between the plugs on the drivers side.
Also, didn't they switch to the "corporate" v8 motors somewhere around those years?

Thanks for the link we printed it out stuck his head in the back of motor and guess what?
Turns out to be a 67 or 68 350. I can't remember which year but the big test will be when he orders gaskets.
