I'm putting a tranny in my 75. The one in it now is a non lockup. I got a tranny from a buddy with 10000 miles on a rebuild for $50. The new tranny had a lockup converter in it. Can I run this tranny with a non lockup converter or is that gonna be a problem??

 

I'd run a lock-up style converter with a switch to lock it up when you want. It will act like closer gear ratios. Once you wind out second gear you can engage lock-up and get a few more mph before you hit third and dis-engage the lock-up. Better gas milage on the road too. Not sure if you can get a high stall converter with the lock-up style though? Later >>>>>>
