gage lights

I was coming home from a friends house the other night and I went to turn on my light and nothing happened. This is only the inside lights the headlights came on. I checked the fuse and it is good. Anyone have any ideas of what to check next. I was thinking maybe the switch went bad but its the same one as the headlights so i dont know.

Try turning the switch **** back and forth, clean the reostat and conductor maybe. Should work on full bright setting anyway I think. Turn the **** until the overhead light comes on then back until it just goes off, this is full bright setting on the dash lights.
