Frame coating

What do you think about spraying a spray in bed liner on my whole frame? I'm not going back to original, I just want it to be nice and last a long time. Or should I just use rustolium semi flat paint?

Sorry I put this in the wrong form.

I coated mine with Rustoleum gloss black, it is only going to be for a little while, i have another subframe i am going to be building as i go that'll end up being powdercoated. I like the gloss black, here's a pic!

Some numb nut sprayed the whole underside of my 69 Camaro (from firewall to the trunk). That stuff looks like 35 years of crud and grease has set on the frame without being cleaned. It looks bad to me after the fresh black paint starts getting dirty. Even pressure washers don't get all the mud and dirty off it.

All I have to say is if you do it...you better mean for it to be on there. If you try to take it off like I'm doing it's a H-U-G-E P-A-I-N in the A-S-S

at an impressive $120 a gallon, POR-15 is the best base. They also have top coats. Preparation is very important and it DOES NOT come of skin easily.

www.por-15.com I think

Most of my car's undercarriage is painted with plain old Krylon gloss black, and I like it. It's easy to clean, and easy to touchup. I like the way the rear axle housing shines when headlights hit it pulling in the driveway.

After I sanded and cleand my entire undercarrage and frame I sprayed it with black epoxy primer, and then black Dupont Centari enamel with a flattener in it so that it has a semi gloss look I did paint the fire wall and innerfenders with the same process but no flattener added, so it remained glossy. The por 15 is great stuff BUT is made only for rusty surfaces and I was told that on a rust free south car not to use it. Also its not real good to spray it out of a gun.

My frame is not rusty, It has old paint on it that I will beed blast off and then paint it. So if I have no rust I shouldn't use the por-15? I just want smething that will last and not chip off too easy. Thanks for the help.

its been several years since I did my car, but that is what the local retailer told me. He said the POR15 needed the rust and such to properly harden. The paint I used is the same as exterior car paint so it chips as easy as the outside of your car does. I would call POR 15 and ask them for information. They want you to use a brush for application was another reason I didnt want it. I wanted a perfect finish. The eastwood company also has a chassis black paint, so does GM.

I am not a salesman for POR-15. It can be painted over unrusted paint and sprayed. I do NOT think it comes in a spray can, but there are directions for spraying. As 81Z28355 said, eastwood is great paint and is spray on.
Good luck.
