77 z28 front end swap to 79 berlinetta
77 z28 front end swap to 79 berlinetta
k, i have the complete front end off of a 1977 z28, now i am doing a ground up restore of a 1979 camaro berlinetta...
i want to know two things.. number one... will i run into any problems with the swap over, ie. parts not matchin up.. i stripped the front end complete as in everything except the frame :P
and number 2, all the bolts i have are rusted like nothin... is there any way to get the complete bolt and nut and screw list gm used during the manufacturing process so i can get them all in stainless steel? or at least new bolts?

They have a very complete set of parts for older desireable cars. I would suspect that bolts would be pricey for a car like yours. I had to replace the body bushings on my 1979 Berlinetta and got the bolts at a hardware store. I think they were grade 5. (My front subframe came from a 1981 Firebird)

For bolts, check your yellow pages under fasteners and look for a major supplier. They'll have just about any fastener you need, and will probably be a little cheaper than going to the hardware store.
