I'm going to assume you have headers already as that would be the first thing on the list. I've had my ceramic coated headers on my car for ten years and they still look good. (Hedman 1 5/8") Definitely worth the extra $. I don't know if anyone makes stainless headers for 2nd gens. If they do.....? I don't know if I'd spend the extra money on them. It's your choice. On my '77 I went with the Flowmaster tranverse mounted muffler. It doesn't have the sound of normal flowmasters (which I am glad) but sounds really good. It saves a ton of ground clearance too. I used to have twin turbo mufflers mounted underneath and always hated speedbumps. Now I don't care. The only problem I have now is in the mounting of my external fuel pump. I would've liked the space where the muffler is. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

I have a set of 2-1/2 inch duals that I bent up and two small Magnaflow mufflers where the factory resonators were. It sounds really nice. Car has manifolds right now but it will have headers in the spring as one manifold is cracked.
