Dynomax vs Hooker Aerochambers

I am looking VERY seriously at getting new exhaust on my camaro in a week or two, and I was just wondering your opinions on this subject...

Dynomax Race Bullets vs. Hooker Aerochambers -

I wish I could hear clips of both of them, but I seriously doubt anyone has clips of both of these mufflers. Hehe, but what are your opinions on them? I am looking for some of these characteristics: loud, deep, and aggressive... This is for my weekend car, which is going to become more aggressive the longer I have it.

Are there some other mufflers (not flowmaster, please... EVERYONE here has them) that I may want to consider? Or should I stick with the current plan? Help me out guys, I know some of you know this

I ran the Dynomax race magnums. they got renamed ultraflow just not stainless. They're straight through. Had a nice tone, but not loud IMO, but definately noticable even at idle. The bullets will be loud, but they don't have to the volume (as in area) to make as deep an exhaust tone as something with a larger body.
I haven't heard the Hooker Aerochamber, but Hooker also makes the Maxflow which is a straight through design like the ultraflows and magnaflows. The straight through flows better than chambered designs.
There is also Raven, but to me they sound almost like a glasspack. Spintechs sound decent, but are a bit pricey IMO.
As you get your car modded more, it'll change the sound of the exhaust.

I have run both on my 79 and like the aero chambers better (have the aero chambers on my 68 also). The dynomax were very loud, had a pretty decent tone to them and you will surely be heard before you are seen. The aero chambers have a nice deep sound and not nearly as loud, but you will still be heard before being seen Now as far as performance goes. I dropped a tenth (.10) off my 60 ft time by switching from the dynomax race magnums to the aero chambers. Hope this helps.

.10 could be dropped by driver, better traction, track conditions, cooler air and the list goes on.

Either way, they're both good mufflers. I'd get the one that I could get cheapest.

the .10 of sec drop was not a one time thing. I was/am the driver, and it is quicker year around, so it is not because the weather changed, or the track changed. It was just a simple muffler change. Just wanted to make sure the facts are out there so you can make the best decision for you.

Descisions... lol...

I want it to be loud when I do a throttle stand, and be mean sounding, but for some reason after hearing all the debates here Hookers seem to be the best for performance (no pun intended). BUT the volume is with the bullets - wow this isn't gunna be easy...

Which would be the easiest to put in??? Would I have problems trying to put in 2 Hooker Aerochambers under my car? I think the bullets would be the easiest, because it takes barely any room to put them under there...

Anything you guys can add to help me make this decision? Thanks for all you've given me thus far.

I mounted my bullets and aerochambers in the exact same spot on my 79. The bullets leave more space under the car, but they will both fit without any problems.

It is true though that each car/motor combo will make it's own sound. My 68 and 79 both have the aero chambers and they both have their own distinct sound.

One more thing, the place I bought my aerochambers from had a car cruise that I took the 79 to. They sold three sets of aerochambers within 45 minutes of me pulling in when they found out what muffler I was running because they liked the deep sound.

Good luck with whatever you decide. they are both good mufflers.
